Launchcast on Yahoo: Hear the songs I've shown here!!

Trapped in your mind, the swirling thoughts of dreams and woes surround your every aspiration and whim.
It consumes your attention, and plagues your thoughts, leaving you stranded... alone.
Only the subtle glow from the radio and it's lucid tones, hold you on the edge of reality.
It is here we laugh and cry, relate and hate all at the drop of a solitary note.
Someone seems to relate to us and hears our pleas.

Save us all...
We are trapped with music in our minds.

All About Soul
by Billy Joel

She waits for me at night, she waits for me in silence
She gives me all her tenderness and takes away my pain
And so far she hasn't run, though I swear she's had her moments
She still believes in miracles while others cry in vain

It's all about soul
It's all about faith and a deeper devotion
It's all about soul
'Cause under the love is a stronger emotion
She's got to be strong
'Cause so many things getting out of control
Should drive her away
So why does she stay?
It's all about soul

She turns to me sometimes and asks me what I'm dreaming
And I realize I must have gone a million miles away
And I ask her how she knew to reach out for me that moment
And she smiles because it's understood there are no words to say

It's all about soul
It's all about knowing what someone is feeling
The woman's got soul
The power of love and the power of healing
This life isn't fair
It's gonna get dark, it's gonna get cold
You gotta get tough, but that ain't enough
It's all about soul

There are people who have lost every trace of human kindness
There are many who have fallen, there are some who still survive
She comes to me at night and she tells me her desires
And she gives me all the love I need to keep my faith alive

It's all about soul
It's all about joy that comes out of sorrow
It's all about soul
Who's standing now and who's standing tomorrow
You've got to be hard
Hard as the rock in that old rock 'n' roll song
But that's only part, you know in your heart
It's all about soul

Have you ever found yourself inexplicably drawn to someone? to the point that you can tell what they're thinking, what they're feeling... or that you know when they are feeling terrible, even when they are so far away and you can't see them? This is what song you should at least listen to. This song came up on LaunchCast and was never even been rated by me, so I had to make this the song of the week only because it's so true. um... yeah, I shouldn't have to say more than that... at least not here.

Iris
by Goo Goo Dolls

And I'd give up forever to touch you
Cause I know that you feel me somehow
You're the closest to heaven that I'll ever be
And I don't want to go home right now

And all I can taste is this moment
And all I can breathe is your life
Cause sooner or later it's over
I just don't want to miss you tonight

And I don't want the world to see me
Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

And you can't fight the tears that ain't coming
Or the moment of truth in your lies
When everything seems like the movies
Yeah you bleed just to know your alive

And I don't want the world to see me
Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

I don't want the world to see me
Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am

I've gone for almost 1 1/2 years with this part of my thread and I never had a Goo Goo Dolls song on here. I am definitely slipping. Actually, Iris is one of my favorite songs of theirs.
And I don't want the world to see me
Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am
I know it's the refrain but this part of the song sticks out to me. There are so many times I don't think people understand who I am (or even want to bother knowing who I am)... so I hide away and shy away from the world. I just figure if no one is willing to take the time to learn about me and who I am, why should I put myself out there for ridicule?

*shrugs* despite the feelings I get from the song, I still like it.

Make it Last
by Stroke 9

The fire flickers out, making movies on her skin
And in the embers she remembers all the places that she's been
Four letter words fly from her mouth
She thinks she's breaking ground
Time takes it toll, she feels his soul
And everything around and I say

The way that you feel now
It's cool as long as I know
The way it's gonna be

Make it last for an hour
We'll never feel this way again
Make it all that you want
And everything that I need

The booze reaches her blood
She forgets his name
The wood has turned to coal
But our desire feeds the flame
Will we surrender to the night?
Or will our conscience win the fight?
She won't regress, but can't confess
That everything's alright and I say

The way that you feel now
It's cool as long as I know
The way it's gonna be
It's gonna take more
Where we're gonna go...

Make it last for an hour
We'll never feel this way again
Make it all that you want
And everything that I need
Make it last make it last 'cause you're not making me
Any promises, make it last
Make the best of what you see

You give to me what I need to see,
You can't feed my imagination
You give to me what I need to see, it's a twisted fascination
It feels so good to make it through the cold
But you know that he'll
Close all the doors just close 'em all
For the rest of time

Eh... I'm not saying too much about this song... If you can't figure out what the lyrics are talking about, you have some serious issues. I must say though, Stroke 9 has some interesting music. It's a great selection of music to have a cigarette after listening to if you catch my drift...

Shame On Me
by Ryan Cabrera

I know you wanna talk
And tell me about your day
But i keep wandering off

Oooh how your hair...
falls in front of your face
While you try to keep it up

I've always paid attention to your point of view
But now i want to focus on the rest of you
Shame on me wanting you
The way i fantasize about
What i'd give, what i'd do
I just want to work you out
Times like this I'm so glad that you can't read my mind
Shame on me another time

Please dont walk away
I'm only drifting 'cause you look so good tonight
Now that we're alone it's so hard to listen
You know you got me mesmerized

I've always paid attention to your point of view
But now i want to focus on the rest of you

Shame on me wanting you
The way i fantasize about
What i'd give, what i'd do
I just want to work you out
Times like this I'm so glad that you can't read my mind
Shame on me another time

I've always paid attention to your point of view
But now i want to focus on the rest of you

Shame on me wanting...

Shame on me wanting you
The way i fantasize about
What i'd give, what i'd do
I just want to work you out
Times like this I'm so glad that you can't read my mind
Shame on me.

Well well... I put up a pop song and for some reason I get crap mail from someone... come and post in here about it if you don't like it. At least give others a chance to attack your poor spelling and your poorly constructed reasons as to why I shouldn't have it on my page. ^^;

I like the lyrics and I like the song. Who the hell cares if it's Ryan Cabrera anyway? For a song that I hear 12 yr olds singing, I wish their parents would listen or at least READ the lyrics... I can relate to the song in some ways... daydreaming is a terrible habit of mine. XP but 12 yr olds should not be singing songs like this when they don't understand what the heck the lyrics mean.

I Write Sins Not Tragedies
by Panic! at the Disco

Oh, well imagine; as I'm pacing the pews in a church corridor,
and I can't help but to hear, no I can't help but to hear an exchanging of words:
"What a beautiful wedding!", "What a beautiful wedding!" says a bridesmaid to a waiter.
"And yes, but what a shame, what a shame, the poor groom's bride is a whore."

I'd chime in with a "Haven't you people ever heard of closing a goddamn door?!"
No, it's much better to face these kinds of things with a sense of poise and rationality.
I'd chime in "Haven't you people ever heard of closing a goddamn door?!"
No, it's much better to face these kinds of things with a sense of...

Oh! Well in fact, well I'll look at it this way, I mean technically our marriage is saved
Well this calls for a toast, so pour the champagne
Oh! Well in fact, well I'll look at it this way, I mean technically our marriage is saved
Well this calls for a toast, so pour the champagne, pour the champagne

I'd chime in with a "Haven't you people ever heard of closing a goddamn door?!"
No, it's much better to face these kinds of things with a sense of poise and rationality.
I'd chime in "Haven't you people ever heard of closing a goddamn door?!"
No, it's much better to face these kinds of things with a sense of poise and rationality.

Again...

I'd chime in "Haven't you people ever heard of closing a goddamn door?!"

Again...

ok no sooner had I started listening to this group a little bit, I see them plastered all over TRL *mock pukes* I'm no fan of the way musicians are attacked... but their music is awesome... Sorta punk, sorta alternative, sorta techno, sorta gothic mash of everything with a bit of 70's feel in there. Well duh, I mean, they ARE Panic! At the Disco afterall. This is one of the first songs I heard of theirs they hooked me with... the rest keep me coming back for more. (be forewarned, I will be posting more of their music in the future) *grins*

Somebody
by Reba McEntire

At a diner down on Broadway they make small talk
When she brings his eggs and fills his coffee cup
He jokes about his love life
And tells her he's 'bout ready to give up
That's when she says,"I've been there before
Keep on lookin'
'Cause maybe who you're lookin' for is..."

Somebody in the next car
Somebody on the morning train
Somebody in the coffee shop
That you walk right by everyday
Somebody that you look at
But never really see
Somewhere out there is somebody

Across town in a crowded elevator
He can't forget the things that waitress said
He usually reads the paper
But today he reads a stranger's face instead
It's that blue-eyed girl
From two floors up
Maybe she's the one
Maybe he could fall in love with

Somebody in the next car
Somebody on the morning train
Somebody in the coffee shop
That you walk right by everyday
Somebody that you look at
But never really see
Somewhere out there
Is somebody

Now they laugh about the moment that it happened
A moment they'd both missed until that day
When he saw his future in her eyes
Instead of just another friendly face
And he wonders why
He searched so long
When she was always there at that diner waiting on

Somebody in the next car
Somebody on the morning train
Somebody in the coffee shop
That you walk right by everyday
Somebody that you look at
But never really see
Somewhere out there
Oh somewhere out there is somebody

ok those who know me understand that I don't like country as a general rule... there are a couple of country artists I enjoy, occasionally. Reba McEntire is one of the few. I like this song... it gives hope to people who think there is no one out there for them... if you are willing to look around, there are people thinking the exact same thing about you.

or does that sound stalkerish? *grins*

Lovesong
by The Cure

Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am home again
Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am whole again

Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am young again
Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am fun again

However far away
I will always love you
However long I stay
I will always love you
Whatever words I say
I will always love you
I will always love you

Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am free again
Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am clean again

However far away
I will always love you
However long I stay
I will always love you
Whatever words I say
I will always love you
I will always love you

I remember a time when The Cure was not even cool enough to be on my music list... now I look and I find their songs all over my playlist... maybe I just understand them more now than I did in highschool. This song in particular is always playing on my list.
