Launchcast on Yahoo: Hear the songs I've shown here!!

Trapped in your mind, the swirling thoughts of dreams and woes surround your every aspiration and whim.
It consumes your attention, and plagues your thoughts, leaving you stranded... alone.
Only the subtle glow from the radio and it's lucid tones, hold you on the edge of reality.
It is here we laugh and cry, relate and hate all at the drop of a solitary note.
Someone seems to relate to us and hears our pleas.

Save us all...
We are trapped with music in our minds.

Trapped with Music in my Mind...

Mr. Zebra
by Tori Amos

Hello Mr. Zebra
Can I have your sweater
Cause it's cold cold cold
In my hole hole hole
Ratatouille Strychnine
Sometimes she's a friend of mine
With a gigantic whirlpool
That will blow your mind
Hello Mr. Zebra
Ran into some confusion
With a Mrs. Crocodile
Furry muscles marching on
She thinks she's Kaiser Wilhelm
Or a civilized syllabub
To blow your mind
Figure it out
She's a goodtime fella
She got a little fund to fight for Moneypenny's rights
Figure it out
She's a goodtime fella
Too bad the burial was premature
She said and smiled

I think I had to pick the oddest song of Tori's to showcase first on my page. *ROFL* Mr. Zebra is not typical of her songs. It is, however, the shortest and the most popular at her concerts and in general. I believe it's only a minute and a half long. But it does show how she can weave some great $10 words into a great song. Heh... read the lyrics... you'll soon see what I mean!

Echo
by Trapt

Close my eyes
Let the whole thing pass me by
There is no time
To waste asking why
I'll run away with you by my side
I'll run away with you by my side
I need to let go, let go, let go, let go of this pride,
(Asking why)

I think about your face
And how I fall into your eyes
The outline that I trace
Around the one that I call mine
Time that called for space
Unclear where you drew the line
I don't need to solve this case
And I don't need to look behind

Close my eyes
Let the whole thing pass me by
There is no time
To waste asking why
I'll run away with you by my side
I'll run away with you by my side
I need to let go, let go, let go, let go of this pride,
(Asking why)

Do I expect to change, the past I hold inside,
with all the words I say,
repeating over in my mind,
somethings you can't erase, no matter how hard you try,
an exit to escape is all there is left to find.

Close my eyes
Let the whole thing pass me by
There is no time
To waste asking why
I'll run away with you by my side
I'll run away with you by my side
I need to let go, let go, let go, let go of this pride,
Until this echo, echo, echo, echo in my mind
Until this echo, echo, echo, echo can subside

(I know I always loved you)
(I know I always loved you)
(I know I always loved you)

So I close my eyes
Let the whole thing pass me by
There is no time
To waste asking why
I'll run away with you by my side
I'll run away with you by my side
I need to let go, let go, let go, let go of this pride,
Until this echo, echo, echo, echo in my mind
Until this echo, echo, echo, echo can subside

I am inexplicably drawn to Trapt. Everything they sing gets in my head and lingers for days on end. I love this song. I don't know exactly why. It sounds hopeful. That feeling as if you let go of the past and just move forward, everything will work itself out. I hope that is the case for lots of things. Sometimes I wonder about grudges... both my grudges towards people and theirs towards me. If I have that moment (even if I am just thinking about it on my own and not discussing my feelings with anyone), I wonder... could the same be said for those who have (or had) been thinking ill of me? I don't know about anyone else but, I am tired of holding any kind of grudge. I have felt this way for quite a while. But this isn't where I typically write about feelings... this is for the music. But see what this song does to me? *sighs* I still love this song.

Fly Away
by Poe

It makes sense that it should happen this way
That the sky should break, and the earth should shake
As if to say: Sure it all matters but in such an
unimportant way
As if to say:

Fly away, sweet bird of prey
Fly fly away
Nothing can stand in your way
Sweet bird, if you knew the words
I know you'd say: fly, fly away

It makes sense that it should hurt in this way
That my heart should break, and my hands should shake
As if to say: Sure it don't matter except in the most
important way
As if to say:

Fly away, sweet bird of prey
Fly fly away
I won't stand in your way
Sweet bird, if you knew the words
I know that you'd say: fly, fly away

It makes sense that it should feel just this way
That you slowly fade and yet still remain
As if to say: Everything matter in such an invisible way
As if to say: It's O.K.
Fly...away

I used to be addicted to Poe (the musician, in this case) while I was in college. I had signed up for a Discover card when I started my first year and as a thank you for signing up, I got a compilation CD of Alternative artists. Poe's song "Hello" was the first song on the CD and I played it over and over again. When I made the big mistake to join Columbia House for CD's, I got her debut CD Hello which had this song on it at the very end. It used to calm me. I would listen to it and it would simply wipe away anything I was feeling crappy about. I love it when songs can do that to you when you feel at your worst.

Everybody's Fool
by Evanescence

perfect by nature
icons of self indulgence
just what we all need
more lies about a world that

never was and never will be
have you no shame don't you see me
you know you've got everybody fooled

look here she comes now

bow down and stare in wonder

oh how we love you

no flaws when you're pretending
but now i know she

never was and never will be
you don't know how you've betrayed me
and somehow you've got everybody fooled

without the mask where will you hide
can't find yourself lost in your lie

i know the truth now
i know who you are
and i don't love you anymore

it never was and never will be
you're not real and you can't save me
somehow now you're everybody's fool

This was incredibly freaky. I was choosing lyrics for the following week from my multitude of links. I had decided I would post an Evanescence song but didn't know which to post. well, after pulling up Everybody's Fool, YahooLaunch pulled up the exact same song. I feel I was meant to post it. Thus, here was the song for the next week.
