Launchcast on Yahoo: Hear the songs I've shown here!!

Trapped in your mind, the swirling thoughts of dreams and woes surround your every aspiration and whim.
It consumes your attention, and plagues your thoughts, leaving you stranded... alone.
Only the subtle glow from the radio and it's lucid tones, hold you on the edge of reality.
It is here we laugh and cry, relate and hate all at the drop of a solitary note.
Someone seems to relate to us and hears our pleas.

Save us all...
We are trapped with music in our minds.

I Put A Spell On You
by Screamin' Jay Hawkins

I put a spell on you
Because you're mine

Stop the things you do
Watch out, I ain't lying

I can't stand
No running around
I can't stand
And no putting me down

I put a spell on you
Because you're mine

Stop the things you do
Watch out, I ain't lying

I love you, I love you
I love you anyhow
I don't care if you don't want me
I'm yours right now

I put a spell on you
Because you're mine, mine, mine
Oh you're mine

I thought this would be perfect for Halloween! I got the idea from the Levi's commercial. I don't know which version they use in the commercial but it's one of Screamin' Jay Hawkins' recorded versions. Yeah you know the commercial. The guy goes into the store and sees the jeans he wants on a white mannequin. He walks out with them on and the mannequin stalks him all the way to his home during a stormy night. I love that commercial. Most people don't think to search for the music for the commercials but I had remembered hearing it somewhere else recorded differently ( I think it was Hocus Pocus. Bette Middler sings it in the party scene). Anyway, It made me totally think of Halloween so I had to post it. Happy Halloween everyone!

My Last Breath
by Evanescence

hold on to me love
you know i can't stay long
all i wanted to say was i love you and i'm not afraid
can you hear me?
can you feel me in your arms?

holding my last breath
safe inside myself
are all my thoughts of you
sweet raptured light it ends here tonight

i'll miss the winter
a world of fragile things
look for me in the white forest
hiding in a hollow tree (come find me)
i know you hear me
i can taste it in your tears

holding my last breath
safe inside myself
are all my thoughts of you
sweet raptured light it ends here tonight

closing your eyes to disappear
you pray your dreams will leave you here
but still you wake and know the truth
no one's there

say goodnight
don't be afraid
calling me calling me as you fade to black

I have been listening to Evanescence for a while and I can't believe that I haven't put one of their songs on my list! Here ya go! My Last Breath. This is a great sad song of lonliness and fear of being forgotten. Amy Lee has a superb voice and she just makes the wannabes pale in comparison. She is so incredibly talented. It's a shame we tend to forget that they are a band and not a single entity. The band as a whole is awesome. It's a shame the majority of the limelight is only shed on her and not on the others as well.

Powertrip
by Monster Magnet

Who's gonna teach you how to dance?
Who's gonna show you how to fly?
Who's gonna call you on the lame-dope-smoking,
Slackin' little sucker you are?

Who's gonna get you from behind?
Who's gonna ring your little bell?
Who's gonna con you into buying a television set revolution they sell?

When are you gonna blow the game?
When are you gonna blow the screen?
When will you tell them that the crap doesn't last
And you found a way to make your own dreams

The crap doesn't last and you found a way to make yourself scream

Well I died a million times
And I picked my culture well
And I built myself a gate
They can all now go to hell

I'm never gonna work another day in my life
The gods told me to relax
They said I'm gonna be fixed up right
I'm never gonna work another day in my life
I'm way too busy powertripping
But I'm gonna shed you some light

Get down!

Who's gonna teach you how to dance?
Who's gonna show you how to fly?
When you get tired of the crap baby move over here and maybe buy some of mine

I'm never gonna work another day in my life
The gods told me to relax
They said I'm gonna be fixed up right
I'm never gonna work another day in my life
I'm way too busy powertripping
But I'm gonna shed you some light

I'm never gonna work another day in my life
The gods told me to relax
They said I'm gonna be fixed up right
I'm never gonna work another day in my life
I'm way too busy powertripping
But I'm gonna shed you some light

OK my brother is home for good now. He's been home since September and is living with my parents. I went over to the house for my dad's birthday last weekend and he started playing a few songs. This was one of them. I haven't heard it in forever!! So, of course, I had to list it on my main page: This is me... AHH Talk about a flashback! Great song! If you haven't heard it, OMG go now and downloa... *AHEM* buy a CD or pay to download this song!! Or you can go through LaunchCastPlus to listen to it too. It's just a good song. And it definitely makes me think of my lil Bro.

You're The Only One
by Maria Mena

Well I saw you with your hands above your head
Spinning around, trying not to look down
But you did, and you fell, hard on the ground
Then you stumbled around for a good ten minutes
And I said I'd never seen anyone look so dumb before
And you laughed and said I still know how to turn you on though

You're the only one who
Drags me kicking and screaming through fast dreams
You're the only one who
Knows exactly what I mean

And I probably forgot to tell you this
Like that time I forgot to tell you about the scar
Remember how uncomfortable that made you feel?
See you're not what I expected
But you're the only one who knows how to handle me
And you're such a great kisser and I know that you agree

You're the only one who
Drags me kicking and screaming through fast dreams
You're the only one who
Knows exactly what I mean

I hope you can forgive me for that time
When I put my hand between your legs
And said it was small
Cuz its really not at all
I guess there's just a part of me that likes to bring you down
Just to keep you around
Cuz the day you realize how amazing you are
You're gonna leave me

You're the only one who
Holds my hair back when I'm drunk and get sick
You're the only one who
Knows exactly what I mean

You're the only one who
Drags me kicking and screaming through fast dreams
You're the only one who
Knows exactly what I mean

Exactly what I mean

Well I saw you with your hands above your head
Spinning around, trying not to look down
But you did, and you fell, hard on the ground

I was watching some show on MTV about new artists and they were making comments about this newcommer, Maria Mena. She's a native of Norway but her dad is a drummer for a band here in the US. I absolutely loved this song. It's a bit funny and so very truthful about life. I mean, most women feel that they aren't good enough to be with the guy they are with. And some deal with their relationship by slamming the person they're with or they think less of themselves by attacking the current status of the relationship saying the one who is also with them will leave them for someone better once they realize how great a person they really are. Too many women do this to their relationships over and over again... and they wonder why they fall apart after a long time of them being together. Come on, guys do get tired of the beating down their ego after a while. Really... it is we who are too good for the guy. *winks* They should be doing something for us. *wonders about getting a massage* X)

Shrug
by Ani DiFranco

what's with that halo hovering
above that thick skull
spare me
if i do say so - i think you're covering
'course there was nothing
could've prepared me

for the side effect of this dirty drug
the way you punish me and then you shrug

what's with that phone call, baby
it's like you're trying
just trying to crush me
do you feel stronger each time you push me, dear
did you tell your mom you carpet bombed
before you left here

and is it just the side effect of this dirty drug
or does each apology sound more like a shrug

are you at home now with your kitty cats
are you just at home now with the way that you act
do you split the rent there with all your secrets
or do you just pretend to all your friends
they're uninvited guests

yes and when you want it tidy tell me
can you still dispel me
sweep me neatly under the rug
does your conscience ever mention
the way that you treat me
or do you just fend it off with a shrug

I'll keep this write up short seeing I just did last week's song an Ani song. *wink* I don't normally post two songs by the same artist in a row. But I had just heard this Ani song and figured, "Hey I have to update my song so why not?!?" As I said before, she is a great poet. She is eloquent and blunt all at once. And she definitely speaks her mind. Enough said.
