Launchcast on Yahoo: Hear the songs I've shown here!!

Trapped in your mind, the swirling thoughts of dreams and woes surround your every aspiration and whim.
It consumes your attention, and plagues your thoughts, leaving you stranded... alone.
Only the subtle glow from the radio and it's lucid tones, hold you on the edge of reality.
It is here we laugh and cry, relate and hate all at the drop of a solitary note.
Someone seems to relate to us and hears our pleas.

Save us all...
We are trapped with music in our minds.

Only Hope
by Mandy Moore

There's a song that's inside of my soul.
It's the one that I've tried to write over and over again
I'm awake in the infinite cold.
But you sing to me over and over and over again.

So, I lay my head back down.
And I lift my hands and pray
To be only yours,
I pray, to be only yours
I know now you're my
only hope.

Sing to me the song of the stars.
Of your galaxy dancing and laughing and laughing again.
When it feels like my dreams are so far
Sing to me of the plans that you have for me over again.

So I lay my head back down.
And I lift my hands and pray
To be only yours,
I pray, to be only yours
I know now, you're my
only hope.

I give you my destiny.
I'm giving you all of me.
I want your symphony, singing in all that I am
At the top of my lungs, I'm giving it back.

So I lay my head back down.
And I lift my hands and pray
To be only yours,
I pray, to be only yours
I pray, to be only yours
I know now you're my
only hope.

hmmmmm, hmmmmm, oooooh.

I have no real reason to post this song except that I love the tune and the lyrics are nice. I keep hearing myself sing the song over and over. *sighs* Another one stuck in my head for no real reason. I like this version much more than Switchfoot's version. Mandy Moore's version gives the song a little more "ache" and depth. Heh... to put it simply... I just like it.

The Thunder Rolls
by Garth Brooks

Three thirty in the morning,
Not a soul in sight,
The city's lookin' like a ghost town
On a moonless summer night.
Raindrops on the windshield,
There's a storm moving in.
He's headin' back from somewhere
That he never should have been.
And the thunder rolls.
And the thunder rolls.

Every light is burnin'
In a house across town.
She's pacin' by the telephone
In her faded flannel gown.
Askin' for miracle,
Hopin' she's not right, Prayin' it's the weather
That's kept him out all night.
And the thunder rolls.
And the thunder rolls.

The thunder rolls
And the lightnin' strikes.
Another love grows cold
On a sleepless night,
As the storm blows on
Out of control
Deep in her heart
The thunder rolls.

She's waitin' by the window
When he pulls into the drive
She rushes out to hold him
Thankful he's alive
But on the wind and rain
A strange new perfume blows
And the lightnin' flashes in her eyes
And he knows that she knows
And the thunder rolls
And the thunder rolls

The thunder rolls
And the lightnin' strikes.
Another love grows cold
On a sleepless night,
As the storm blows on
Out of control
Deep in her heart
The thunder rolls.

She runs back down the hallway
To the bedroom door
She reaches for the pistol
Kept in the dresser drawer
Tells the lady in the mirror
He won't do this again
Cause tonight will be the last time
She'll wonder where he's been

I usually don't go crazy for Country songs but this is one of the few I love to hear. Garth Brooks was so cool to me before I heard he tried to go mainstream by creating an alter ego. *shudders* That's way too scary. This song just intruiged me... mainly because I loved the thunder in the song. Now that I am older (and, I hope, wiser) I realize what the words of the song really mean, and it makes me think of all the stupid stuff people from one of our circle of friends tend to be. It's ridiculous how quick they are to run off and have an affair. Then they think they've gotten away with something... Stupid. Doesn't matter... I still like the song.

Wheel
by John Mayer

People have the right to fly
And will when it gets compromised
Their hearts say "Move along"
Their minds say "Gotcha heart"
Let's move it along

And airports
See it all the time
With someone's last goodbye
Blends in with someone's sigh
Cause someone's coming home
In hand a single rose

And that's the way this wheel keeps working now
That's the way this wheel keeps working now
And I won't be the last
No I won't be the last,
To love her

And you can't build a house of leaves
And live like it's an evergreen
It's just a season thing
It's just this thing that seasons do

And that's the way this wheel keeps working now
That's the way this wheel keeps working now
And you won't be the first
No you won't be the first
To love me

You can find me, if you ever want again
I'll be around the bend
I'll be around the bend
I'll be around,
I'll be around
And if you never stop when you wave goodbye
You just might find if you give it time
You will wave hello again
You just might wave hello again

And that's the way this wheel keeps working now
That's the way this wheel keeps working now

You can't love too much, one part of it (repeat then fade)

I believe that my life's gonna see
The love I give
Return to me
I believe that my life's gonna see
The love I give
Return to me
I believe that my life's gonna see
The love I give
Return to me

I love this song because it reminds me that love comes and goes. Not just love with a partner but between friends, family members or with someone else whose opinion is significant to you personally. And when that love fades, it doesn't totally die away. It doesn't disappear entirely. There is always a part of each of you that will remember the good times, and it will remind you that you'll make it through life just fine, just as they will.
I believe that my life's gonna see
The love I give
Return to me

As The World Falls Down
by David Bowie From the movie Labyrinth

There's such a sad love
Deep in your eyes, a kind of pale jewel
Open and closed within your eyes
I'll place the sky within your eyes

There's such a fooled heart
Beating so fast in search of new dreams
A love that will last within your heart
I'll place the moon within your heart

As the pain sweeps through
Makes no sense for you
Every thrill has gone
Wasn't too much fun at all
But I'll be there for you-oo-oo
As the world falls down

Falling
(As the world) Falling down
Falling in love

I'll paint you mornings of gold
I'll spin you Valentine evenings
Though we're strangers till now
We're choosing the path between the stars
I'll leave my love between the stars

As the pain sweeps through
Makes no sense for you
Every thrill has gone
Wasn't too much fun at all
But I'll be there for you-oo-oo
As the world falls down

Falling
(As the world) Falling down
Falling
As the world falls down
Falling
Falling
Falling
Falling in love
As the world falls down
(down) Falling
Falling
Falling
Falling in love
As the world falls down

Falling
Falling
Falling

Makes no sense at all
Makes no sense to fall
Falling
As the world falls down
Falling
Falling
Falling in love
As the world falls down
(down) Falling
Falling
Falling in love
Falling in love (love)
Falling in love
Falling in love
Falling in love

Growing up, I got to see my share of awesome movies: The Wizard of Oz (which is my all time favorite), Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory, The Dark Crystal, The Secret of NIMH, The last Unicorn, The Flight of Dragons, Willow, The NeverEnding Story, The Princess Bride, Legend... and Labyrinth. Of them, The Labyrinth had the best music (The Wizard of Oz isn't even in the same category. Nothing compares to it, hush). The song I listed, done by David Bowie, is one of the best songs in the movie. It really pushed me to listen to more of his music. It's odd how certain movies are almost forgotten and how others spawn a bunch of groups dedicated to the continuation of the plot like: Cult of Jaden. The group believes there is a similarly looking brother (Jaden) set on claiming revenge on Jareth and plans on using Sarah in his devilish plot. I recently stumbled across the page and decided that I needed to watch the movie again, and the song just felt right to post. plus it will give those who have wanted the lyrics, someplace to find them. Oh and Thanks to Amazon.com for having all the movies I listed here in my recollection.
